I was not aware that there is a Wonderlab in Bloomington! I think this is a great idea for the students to take a field trip to in order to learn science through the use of the five senses. I think you captured Piaget's theory very well throughout the activity. That being said, I also think that this activity alone will not sufficiently teach the students what is needed to have a thorough lesson. I think that activities needed to be added at the beginning and after taking the field trip. They students could do some sort of preparatory activity before visiting the Wonderlab (such as a worksheet, PowerPoint, or other activity), visit the Wonderlab and maybe write a review over what they thought of it or some other reflection for homework. Although the five senses are important and Piaget's theory talks a vast amount of times about the five senses being incorporated into lessons in the classroom, I do not think this is enough for the students to fully grasp the information being taught to them.
I think you're idea of using the Wonderlab is really great! I volunteered there my sophomore year and it's a really great hands on environment for children. Concerning Piaget's theory, I think you described it pretty well. A stimulating environment is needed to capture attention and promote ideas and thoughts. I also agree with the five senses needed to perform this activity. Hands on involvement is something that is really needed for the Wonderlab. Like Alex stated above, I do think something else is definitely needed for students to fully grasp that idea. A pre or post assignment would be a great way for students to learn some background information or to really understand the idea being presented. Overall, you did a great job. The Wonderlab is really something that would present Piaget's theory really well!
